HOTEL KULM

The stars just keep coming to the Kulm, literally and figuratively: it was Gault-Millau’s Hotel of the Year in 2018 and now has a Michelin star for its K Restaurant and chef, Mauro Colagreco. So its more than 165 years of excellence continue. It was St. Moritz’s first hotel, opened in 1856 by Johannes Badrutt. Then in 1878, it surprised Christmas guests with dinner served by electric light, a first in Europe! Today as you enter, bouquets of fresh flowers line the pillared reception and a warm fireplace lounge greets  guests. The 164 rooms and suites, many with Swiss stone pine paneling, subtly blend the historic with unique modern comforts and finest furnishings even down to the bed linens. Bathrooms have large picture windows looking out to the lake and the snow covered peaks beyond. The 65-foot glass-walled pool and spa offer cures originally known to the Romans that we’ve come to enjoy: a whirlpool, aromatic steam baths, saunas, and a Caldarium. The Kulm’s renowned hospitality continues – yes, come and be spoiled.
