The Lavoisier, in Paris’s 8th, was opened in ’99 by Lucie Agaut and Michel Bouvier. Walking up to its white facade and into the sunny reception, the staff‘s warm welcome equals the atmosphere in this very American-friendly hotel. Mme Agaut brings fresh flowers around daily. The tastefully decorated 30 bedrooms are in subtly bright colors, with marble baths, wifi, French doors opening to the street below, and a pleasing mixture of antiques and contemporary furnishings. There is an ‘honor’ bar in the library. The French-style buffet breakfast is served down in the caveau with delicious croissants and fresh squeezed orange juice, a rarity in Europe!
